The Empire magazine is specifically for TV entertainment purposes so will help me in my research more than looking at, for example, fashion magazine front covers.
The title, 'EMPIRE', stands out massively as it is the largest font displayed in a bold, red colour. This would be the first thing someone looks at.
The background is a dark colour to make everything in the foreground to stand out.
At the bottom of the page it lists new released, big films that are to be reviewed in the magazine.
There is text to the right of the page saying 'BLOODY HELL! Harry comes out fighting'. It is known to readers that 'Bloody Hell' is a common phrase that Ron Weisley (Harry's friend in the film) says frequently. Also, as the phrase used is in the magazine to stand out as daring. This is because it is a rude phrase and can be seen as offensive. This does not tell readers that something has happened in the film but you have to read the magazine to find out more.
Taking up the majority of the page is Daniel Radcliffe in character as Harry Potter. He is positioned to the right of the page with the writing to the left so that people are able to read it with ease.
The writing to the left lists other film names of what they should expect when reading the magazine. This acts as a quick in sight as to what the magazine contains.
The text below the title is in two colours, white and yellow. This is so it contrasts with the dark background, making it easy to read, and so that the colours are consistent so it doesn't look too busy.
