What Makes A Horror Film Scary

In my opinion, the main idea for a horror film is for the viewers to be scared and in suspense throughout.

The aspects that I think that could create a horror film are:

- Killer/ bad guy/someone or something that is seen to be 'up to no good'

- Tension suspense -background noises

- White flash

- Close ups 

- Black outs 

- Sinister feeling

- Vulnerable person eg. Blonde female, child, etc
- Creaking noises/ odd sounds
- Out of the ordinary eg. ghost/ spirits, made up animals
- Twists - eg. small blonde girls are seen to be innocent yet in the film they may not be

The group are going to do some research on what are the key aspects on what makes a horror film scary and how to create this feeling in a good sequence.
